The hardest part about the last year, Mum, is the sadness I feel when I reach for my phone to give you a call and then I remember. I miss your conversation, your laugh, your excitement, your love of the sun, your ability to chat with just about anyone, your tenacity, and your fight. I promise I won't let you down, Mum, and I will continue to make you proud and live the life you wanted me to live and be the father and protector to your grandchildren who I know you loved above all else.
